Basic Purpose and Objective
Working with minimal supervision performs liquid penetrant and magnetic particle inspection. Processes product in accordance with internal, customer and/or industry requirements. This includes equipment checks, basic maintenance and performing full NDT inspection task. A level two tech will be certified internally and externally and will demonstrate the ability to identify non-conforming product.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
· Proper use of basic measuring tools
· Basic/intermediate computer skills for applications required
· Reads and interprets basic NDT related items on a blueprint/specification.
· Intermediate knowledge of calibration processes.
· Intermediate knowledge of FPI processing/inspection procedures.
· Intermediate knowledge of MPI processing/inspection procedures.
· Record inspection records in NDT database.
· Understands and follows customer/industry acceptance criteria.
· Creates processing instructions as needed.
· Can access and understand NDT techniques and specific instructions.
· Conduct system performance checks at appropriate intervals.
· Set up and standardize equipment.
· Conduct basic maintenance and upkeep of area and equipment.
· Interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and documents results.
· Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Formal Training Requirements/Experience
· Complete FPI classroom & OJT level two training.
· Complete MPI classroom & OJT level two training.
· Complete FPI level two assessment.
· Complete MPI level two assessment.
· 3-5 years of experience required. (Hour based)
